    Default Jug Conditions?

Anyone been anytime recently? I'm guessing it's not going to be worthwhile but, especially if I don't hear otherwise, will probably at least walk down to the water tomorrow (3/5). Thanks.

They say a picture is worth 1000 words (or so) and this one was taken today (4 March) around 2 pm.

    Yes

When there is heavy rains in Lake City and Rose Creek flood, causing a reversal of the sinks upstream of Jug, the front half of the cave will be tannic, with visibility half of what you normally see. When there are very heavy local rains, then the large chambers at the back half of the cave will become very milky, and viz will drop.

Remember the diving season for Jug is only a couple weeks left before it closes.

Why do they close Jug to diving at the end of March?

They close it for the tubing season. Trust me, when the height of tubing season arrives you don't want to be there. The park opens up at 8:00am,but cars will start lining up at 7:00am. When they do open, they will meet their carrying capacity within an hour and a half. Hence, the walk to the spring will be nothing compared to where you will have to park.

That does sound like the threshold of Hell. But, even April amd May? I mean before summer....even in the middle of the week? I got ya, I can picture it on the weekends, but mid week? What are the chances of getting that extended?
