    Default NACD Membership Renewal, will you?

    A simple Yes/No Poll;
    If you are a Current Annual Paying Member of the NACD, will you renew your membership based on the current status quo?
    Please feel free to share your reasons

    we'll see if this makes the membership go down by another order of magnitude. There have been two of those in the last decade, where total revenue declined by an order of magnitude.

    I have asked how many active instructors they have and no one will say. I am guessing under 2 dozen. I have a feeling GUE probably has more active cave instructors than the NACD does. I have asked what the plan is to turn the organization around and all I hear is we are going to return it to it's past glory. Okay fine but what is the plan to get there? All I have heard is we are going to print a journal and have beer at the next NACD event. This doesn't sound like much of a plan to me. I have heard them state they are going to be the premier cave training agency. I ask how are you going to differentiate yourself from everyone else and no answer is given. In my opinion GUE has done an excellent job of capturing the high end of the market and the for profit agencies are eating up the rest of the market. I think the sooner both the NACD and CDS get out of training the better.

    It really seems to me that there is more going on than we know. With this amount of incompetency and the way the same core group hangs onto power at all costs it wouldn't suprise me if there isn't more to this than we know. I just don't know why anyone would get involved with this crap. Who in there right mind is going to sign a one sided non disclosure agreement to help volunteer with a non profit agency? Why would you subject yourself to a frivolous lawsuit from a lawyer who apparently has nothing else to do? At least it is entertaining and helps give CDF some more traffic other than being a classifieds forum.

    You need a third option, like "Maybe, it things improve".

    I created this poll for the express purpose of showing the current BoD the current state of membership and the potential drop is about to see in numbers.
    Thank Forrest & Ben, I've been waiting for these responses.
    I'm going to create another poll now, just for this purpose.

    for me I dropped my membership a few years ago and was about to renew, but after the most recent updates it doesn't look like this year is going to be the year for me to actually re-join

    I'm in the same camp as tbone. I was certified by NACD back in the early 90's, but been away for quite a while. I would have joined already if not for all the drama and uncertainty.

    Unfortunately it's a biased poll with limited inclusion by members. I doubt either will carry any weight with them.
