Cave Exploration History

I've had several people suggest I post a link to the new blog I started 3 months ago on Cave Diver's Forum. It is entitled "A Cave Diving History of Little Known Springs". I was originally asked to write up the exploration history of the springs/sinks that I was involved with along the Withlacoochee and Suwannee Rivers from the 1970's onward by Jhwum Ki-ak of Spring Hunters Guide to Florida Springs. I'm attempting to post one article per month. If you have any interest in reading about some of the exploration history of unfamiliar and some familiar springs from the early days then feel free to have a look at my blog.

Guy, great information. So much of cave diving history is narrative and not documented,so frequently this leads to revisionist history or credit not given where credit is due. The pity is so much of our history is lost from passings or people that have disappeared away from the sport.

The U.K. Has a quarterly newsletter than any diver can submit dives to. Many of the U.K. And European caves have dive by dive documentation of their exploration.

This goes back to 1946 with original letters to members, quite a few originals are still in circulation.

Online copies of all the newsletters going back to 1964 are available to members of the CDG.

It may be worth trying to implement something similar in the states?
