    Default Got my Full Cave!!

    Hey Guys and Gals,
Just spent the better part of the week up in cave country getting my full cave, deco procedures and advanced nitrox certs. What a great week!!

Did a bunch of dives at Ginnie including a couple of jumps to July Spring, a small circuit in the expressway tunnel and a larger circuit that included the bone room. I can't believe how big that room is!! Wow!!

Saturday we went to Madison and did the traverse to Martz sink (I need to do that one a few more times and work on my technique) and then did a second dive up the mainline. I got to meet Angie and another diver (sorry, I don't remember your name).

Anyway, the class was great. I couldn't have picked a better instructor. The forum rules prevent me from giving his name, but if you want details PM me and I'll tell you who he was and why I liked him. I'd recommend him without a moment's hesitation!

Looking forward to diving with a lot more of y'all now.

    Rick

    Congratulations!

Was that your big, bad secondary tie-off at the Rabbit Hole? That wasn't going to come loose 'for sure'.

Awwww.....just teasing you. You did a great job.

I too saw Martz Sink for the first time - though I entered at Martz and just took a look around up- and downstream the mainline from there. Madison is a beautiful system but it surprised me at how you got watch yourself. Lots of line and short gaps in there!

Yep...that was mine. My instructor had pointed to that on the way in, indicating that I should run the line under it to keep it out of the way. I took that to mean do a secondary tie-off there and... well, you saw the results. It was great meeting you though Angie. Thanks for the kind words!!

Well I thought it was creative given the rock that you had to work with......

Congrats! You now have a licence to learn. Go slow, enjoy the view, and don't set any lofty goals. Theres so much cave to see within four or five hundred feet of the entrance that alot of people miss out on. When people ask me how far I have been in a system, I always say thirds.
Good luck to you, and safe diving.

    Congrats

I just got mine a few months ago, one of the proudest moments I've had in a long time. I've bee having fun putting the new skills to use and learning as I go.

Everyone spends the first nine months of life in water. The lucky ones make frequent return visits.

Well done Rick.... It was fun diving with you during your full cave course.
Also it was great seeing you again today at Cave East.
I'll look forward to some Tampa Bay wreck dives with you this summer.
