    Default Cow condition report

Tracy and I dove Cow this morning. On entry the basin was clear. Water level had risen from the 2nd step on 2/3/16 to above the 6th step this morning. Where the goldline starts it began to get a little tannic. At the bottom of the entrance restrictions it was darker tannic with vis about 2 feet. This continued for about 200 feet and then we swam out of the tannic into crystal clear water. There was no perceptible flow. Good vis and no flow continued down through Not My Fault and out to the Change-Up. It was tempting to take advantage of the low flow to go further, but a silt test indicated that it was beginning to siphon ever so slightly, and in anticipation of a low vis exit we turned 700 psi above thirds at 25 minutes. On exit the tannic water was another 50 feet into the cave and darker. We were OKing the line until it began to clear halfway up the series of entrance restrictions. The formerly clear basin was now noticeably tannic during our deco, and the water level had gone up 4 inches during our 63 minute dive.

fawkkkk was really hoping to dive Cow when i come down next week. LR must be turning too (if it hasnt already). River levels are continuing to rise. Withlacoochee has been rising like crazy and now Suwanee is catching up on a similar trajectory.

    Thanks for the report.

We were at Little River on 2/7/16. The basin was tannic and the water level was 6 inches above the retaining wall. The tannic cleared about 4 feet above the rebar, and was clear the rest of the dive with low flow. Yesterday Cathy got a report that the water was up above the lowest landing on the stairs and the tannic extended down to 60 feet. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Peacock is still OK today.

Thanks for the excellent reports Mike. Greatly appreciate the accurate & detailed reporting... but since I am headed up this weekend, not the report content so much

That would make for a chilly deco at LR. Things looked so promising until 4-5 days ago. I guess ill focus on Ginnie/Manatee and try Hart next week

Peacock I is reversing. I will be receiving a report later today on the conditions at Orange Grove. This Am , Thursday 2/11/2016, a French Team is filming Orange. Peacock I is tannic to Pot Hole. Peacock 3 has reversed.
I would suggest anyone coming to Cave Country, North Florida, to set their dive goal to Pothole, Gennie Springs, or Manatee Springs.
