To clarify, I believe Allen means door prizes. Everyone who attends gets a ticket. However, sometimes someone will donate a regulator or other valuable prize and attendees will buy a chance to win it. I'm not aware of that this year, but then, I'm always the last to know anything...

We just got back from Sam's and Wal-Mart. We had five people PayPal me some funds because they couldn't be at the social but they still wanted to "be a part of it all." It was so generous of them. I suppose decorum states that it would be improper to give you their names, but I really, really want them to know how much we appreciate them. So ask me at the social (or PM) and I'll tell you.

I got some of the items we need and put some of their names beside them, but I also got a bunch of stuff we were running out of, such as serving trays and plasticware and all. And dessert! This year we have dessert!

    See everyone in 48 hours!

Thank you Russell, Allen, Michaelangelo (for the fabulous burgers!), Forrest, Barbara, Peter, and many others who were at the Pavilion today.

Enjoyed meeting everyone and placing faces to the handles and avatars.

Huge thank you to Big Blue Lights for my most excellent door prize (Big Blue LED light!!)

Scott and I enjoyed being there and hope to see everyone again this year around the springs.

    Dive safe,

    Celia

Don't forget, Lynn was the hardest worker of us all!

It was a great social, thanks to those that brought stuff, and those that contributed from afar. Because of the donations by those that couldn't attend, we had no worries about running out of charcoal, lighter fluid, plates, utensils, and all the other stuff we don't normally think about.

Special thanks to Michael Angelo, for being the excellent grill chef we have come to depend upon, and to Allen for being the social director. He got many, many donations from shops and dive companies. We really had some great door prizes this year.

The Galaxy Dive was again excellent - we had around twenty divers in the water, and many of them were first-time galaxy divers. I really wish I had some video of the goofus at the grate, who just about exhausted himself trying to get wedged in behind the big rock to release the glow juice.

I'm getting ready for next year!

Default Galaxy Dive/New Year's Day Social items 2015/16

Nelly and I have been chatting about how the CDF social would be a great way to spend New Years for, literally, years. This was our first time and hopefully not the last because it was great!

Thanks so much to all the hard work in putting it together. Was super meeting up and chatting with ya'll.

    See you next year!

(Russell, you did a grate job! It was pretty funny, though.)
