Default Shearwater - the best service of any dive company - ever

Shearwater, what can I say but thanks. my hardwired meg 2.7 predator failed just out of my ccr cave course. battery issue constantly during course. shearwater expressed me the new battery kit (new battery end to compress box). then it failed completely on a dive at indian. frustrated, but its nearly 4 years old and has seen a lot of deep work and travel. so kind of fair enough. org to send back to shearwater in canada, fearing the bill for some unknown problem. arrives a few days ago, and today, i get notification its already coming back to me. with a new board, buttons, battery box the lot. its basically a new predator. at no cost, not even out shipping to me (you pay in shipping with shearwater). What? I ring up to confirm no charge and offer to pay. shearwater confirms, no charge. well out of warranty.

Shearwater is amazing. Best customer service of any company in the dive business. I think i'll buy a petrel next.

Thanks as well to JonT for the loaner head and petrel to get me through!!

They did the same for me a few years ago - new board, no charge.

My Petrel sprung a leak, and they replaced the lens, and the board, free of charge, not to mention fast!

Me too but it was after a battery change, so likely my fault. Still 100% free.

Yup, they just took care of me with my Petrel. New mother board and what I swear looks to be a new faceplate. At no cost to me other than shipping it too them.

I had a hiccup with a bad battery that died in my Optima hard wired Petral. They sorted it out in short order over the weekend and reassured me I was good to go without having to send it in, 1 year later no issues with it or my other SW products. SW should go on a speaking tour, showing other businesses what customer service should look like.

I had a Petrel failure just before a trip to Antarctica in March this year. To cut a lengthy story short: at 1 days notice, I was sent a "loan" predator from the local agent (3 hours drive away), whilst I posted mine to the agent in New Zealand. I had this computer for 10 weeks, as I had other activities in South America planned. They were perfectly happy with this arrangement, which I had told them about beforehand. My computer arrived home fixed. All at no cost. I even had to put the money for the express post (both ways) on the loan computer in the package! They hadn't wanted even that payment. Awesome service. Awesome computer. Consequently, I wouldn't consider buying anything else unless an aweful, aweful lot, goes wrong with the company in the future.
