    Default Eagle's Nest

Dove the nest yesterday.... just a couple of things:

Don't know who this falls under but the reaper sign on the mound in Eagle's Nest needs replaced. The metal pole that the sign is on is rusting pretty bad, I'm sure it's got a few more months but it's going to go soon and will need to be replaced. I don't have any reaper signs left or I'd do it.

Also there is now 2 rope lines going down, there's a new blue one from 30's to the main T at 120', Anyone know what's going on there?

    Blue is the new Gold?

Blue is easier to keep clean?

Blue is friendlier and more welcoming to OW divers?

Blue is easier to see in the dark?

Two lines are better than one?

One line is for GUE only?

One line is CCR, the other OC?

One line is for 6+ hours?

    Just spitballing here, of course.

I have started using PVC to hold up Reaper signs, no rusting issues. I also use stainless bolts. I attach the sign to the PVC first, then stand it in a bucket, and pour cement in (holding the sign upright).

Can't we just let Darwin and Murphy have their way? Do we really need a 2nd sign at the top of the debris cone alerting people that they are jeopardizing their lives?

Just wondering at what point common sense needs to kick in for any untrained, unskilled divers who find themselves in 120' of water in the middle of the ballroom at EN.

You don't just find yourself there by accident.

Does a sign really deter anybody?

I'm with Forrest on this one. I have a image burned in my head of a diver I found there right next to that sign and two full tanks of gas at the base. Clearly that sign didn't work that day.

I feel like the old one could potentially give way from hanging bottles at 70'. I'm thinking someone installed as a backup for that event?

I don't think the signs deter anyone either. Met a couple OW divers there a few month back in the ballroom, split fins, octos, BCD's w/single 80's. Common sense was definitely lacking.
