Default About Suwannee River state park. A little rant.

Dear cavedivers. Please stop calling me or emailing about Whippoorwill cave. Please think before you call. Al Heck, Brian Williams and I had the permit for Suwannee River State park for years. We documented 7 cave systems on that park, mapped them and provided the information to the DEP. We also gave a presentation on the park a few years ago at the CDS workshop. If you want maps or survey data or just plan talk about yourself please contact the district DEP. I am aware that Kelly Jessop took it over for "critter collection" and several people are diving there now. Just think for a minute. Do you honestly think we didn't dive that cave or anything else on that park. We walked every foot of shore and most of the interior of that park. We organized systematic exploration of the riverbeds of both the Suwannacoochee and the Suwanee river in that area. Neither Al or I dive anymore. Get your lazy butts down to the DEP office if you want maps or information. Or just ignore the line in those caves, continue to rename them and pat yourselves on the back. Just please stop contacting me. This is one of the reasons I quit cave diving. Lack of research, wanting the easy way out and ego of some cave divers is unbelievable. Not all mind you and not Kelly but the people who are contacting me are either looking to make a name for themselves with their buddies or just plain lazy. Have a good live, have fun cave diving, I did. But please. Just leave me alone.

Good on you Cindy. Thanks again for all the work you guys did if no one has expressed it lately. As you can tell, nothing really changes in cave diving, certainly not the people. Just different names!

Sorry, but you cannot quit cave diving yet. You still owe me a dive.

Back in 2006, when my first Dobie was on her last few days, I cancelled a dive trip so I could spend her last weekend with her, lying on the couch and rubbing her on her head. You were so touched that you said you were going to take me diving at a new-to-me cave. I haven't collected it yet.

Russell , you need to change your name to Bania, and give her an Armani suit and go out for soup, but it isn't a meal

You know, I've always pictured that in my head as being spelled "Banya."
