Default For Sale: UWLD Gen 4, tall can, with e/o and boot switch

UWLD Gen 4, with e/o and boot switch. comes with piezo switch on head as well. three power settings.

Best light on the market hand down. im upgrading to gen 5, else i wouldnt let it go! 18 months old and not that much use, few scratches from a few trips. works great though. us charger incl of course.

Unique in that you cant get the eo and boot switch in the gen 5s unless modded after. also only a few of these were ever made special order by Bobby. The was its for use with a heating vest.

1200usd. im in cave country now, can be left at cave country or amigos dive shop. for the next 2-4 weeks or so.

Your chance to pickup the best light on the market at a very cut rate.

I'm interested, but I heard you can't travel with the gen 1-4 batteries when flying

Not true. I've flown with my Gen4 LD35 many times without question. Always in carry on.

My understanding on this is that the battery must be UN / Dot 38.3 certified to be legal to fly with. I have flown with my gen 1 light and didn't have any issues. I doubt the TSA agents know the difference. The link you posted just says the older lights are below 160 w/h which is my understanding the maximum size of a Li battery that may be carried on the plane legally. Am I confused on this fact that all Li batteries must be UN / Dot 38.3 certified or they aren't legal on an airplane?

Didn't Bobby post something about the Gen 5 being the only battery that could be legally carried on an aircraft as of the latest FAA rules.

I routinely carry this exact can on aircraft all over the world incl usa. the battery packs in gen4/gen 5 are identical. just have the paperwork in order, carry checkin and its all fine. mine havent even been so much as inspected in the last 3 trips!

What would that paperwork be? Your light canister is not fit for air travel if it's not certified to the UN 38.3 tests. End of story.

    From a previous post:

I defer to Bobby on this issue. I suspect he has done the due diligence.

My gen 4 has been all over the place from US to Mexico to England and France.

Buy it and don't be afraid of the misinformation you're getting.

My buddies who dive LM lights always get stopped. I never do. Not saying LM sucks or anything since I own a few. I guess they just look more "bombey" on an xray
