    Default FOUND Inside Ginnie Springs

I found a nice regulator in the cave at Ginnie. If you lost a regulator, and you're not too embarrassed to come here to claim it, let me know what kind it was, and I'll get it back to you.

How does one loose a regulator in a cave? For that matter, how does one loose a 2nd stage in a cave? (see other lost and found post). http://www.cavediver.net/forum/showt...has-blue-on-it

I was fishing at Ginnie the other day for drunken snorkelers/tubers and STD's (single tank divers). For bait, I use an AL40 on one line and on the other line I use a high quality reg. Almost immediately, I got a strike on the reg- baited reel... and it was a lunker. Damn thing was a fighter. It wrapped around the log in the Ear, then into the cave it went! Spit the hook, er uh, reg shortly after that. I reckon it was a good sized STD.

I carry a back-up reg when I am diving my breather. All my regs use QDs so, it is just a little piece of mind.

No, I have never lost one.

Just dont mention that some folks follow biblical advise not to tighten up second stages so that they can be swap underwater by hands. I personally leave them that way on stage bottles but tighten it up well on main tank hoses (both back or SM). There was interesting prototype of adapter screw-on knurled knob for swap-able second stage attachment at some point in history. I kinda liked the idea but was I too cheap to pay money.
