    Default Little River Conditions

I am considering a trip to either Ginnie or LR this Saturday. Has anyone been to LR in the past 2-3 days that can tell me how conditions are? I assume Ginnie is as Ginnie always is!

We decided on Sunday against diving at Little River when we heard the report that Saturday afternoon the tannic water was down to 60 ft. However, flow is low and vis is pretty good once you get past the tannic intrusion, so if you don't mind deco in river water (brrrr!), it's probably a decent dive. The river has gone up an inch or two since then, so conditions may have changed, but probably not much.

Did LR this morning at around 12:00 noon. Tannic acid was intruding down to about 20', not that bad. Only cold if you will be stopping for deco.
GREAT VIZ - clear all the way to surpentine tunnel - as far as I got. Will be diving in the area if anyone wants to join me for LR either today, Sunday or early Monday morning. Just PM or email me, will be checking from cave excursions.

Dove Little River yesterday (Wed), it was excellent. Tannic water is about 12 feet, so you can deco in warm water. Flow way down, easily made it to the end of the Florida room in about 20 minutes with plenty of gas before thirds. Vis 50-60, little milky. Bring a camera. The shot of the sun coming thru the tannic water on deco is awesome. Also dove Bonnet yesterday, and the conditions there were excellent.

    Default Dove Saturday

LR was great Saturday. Fairly low flow the river was out of the deco area. Vis good if you don't have someone digging in the deep section in front of you.
