    Default Cave fill Faber lp50?

I have read the many posts on cave fills and have formed my own opinion. But I haven't seen Faber lp50's specifically mentioned. Are these cylinders overfilled and considered relatively safe like the more typical cylinders that are used.

Yeah, they get overfilled frequently. They're great tanks as doubles (backmount or sidemount) as they have almost-al80 gas in a tiny package.

I've seen it. Other than that one explosion I would call it a safe practice. You should be good to go.

    Default Cave fill Faber lp50?

Damn popular tank for the reason highlighted by Victor. They're slim and little and with a decent cave fill, you all but have Al 80s in a much sleeker package. Have a look through the "for sale" message board, and you will see lots of people seeking used LP50s for that very reason - significantly, it seems they don't have much luck sourcing a pair! My husband is among those unlucky punters - he wants a pair for SM bailout instead of toting comparatively cumbersome Al80s. I conclude that people who have them do not want to sell them, so the only way to get your mitts on a set is to buy them new.

The guys who I dive with have them and I think they are jerks. I mean, who are they to have slim side mounted tanks that can fit through tighter passage with similar gas. It's ridiculous. They think they are so cool and stuff. It's like my al80's aren't good enough. They pump them to 4000 all the time. I used to be manly with al80's. Now I have to contend with the metrosexual steel 50 people. What a crock

    You suck Lee!

I feel insufficient with my 46's.... They are school bus yellow though, so there is that cool factor!

Thanks all, I have four on the way to side mount! Wanted to be sure I wasn't getting cocky by planning to fill them a little extra.
