    Default Madison Blue - 5/25/15

Dove Madison this Monday, visibility was pretty good, 40-50 ft until Martz, 80-100 ft after Martz and about 60 ft in Godzilla circuit depending where you were in the passage.

Flow was up and comparable to Ginnie. The dive plan was to dive through Rocky Horror into the Courtyard but somewhere along the way we believe we missed the jump. I originally thought that the mainline was going straight through Potters and Rocky Horro but at 1575ft we encountered a T in a pit where you could either turn low right into a small opening, or straight. We choose to go straight and at around 1800-1900ft decided to turn because the passage didn't seem like it was the right one.

We believe we ended up on the Roto-Rooter Tunnel but I'm not 100% sure, could one of you give us some guidance where we ended up and where we should have turned for Potters / Rocky Horror? (Neither one of us has been past 1300ft in Madison before)

Also below is some video I shot during the dive. (Watch in 1080p)

Run time: 151 minutes, max depth 82ft, average depth 57ft.

That pit is on the old map as "DROPOFF". It is where the gold line ends. You missed your jump a couple hundred feet back.

The jump you are looking for is around 1250ish and when I was there last ( six or so months ago ) there was quite a few Dorfs on the line. The jump is called the Mt Offshoot and runs right to the entrance to Potters and beyond. It's around 300 feet from the goldline to the small go/no-go sign at the entrance to Potters. If you do decide to go into Mainland, by sure and "sign in"!
As you probaby know by now, the Roto Rotor tunnel and the Pit are both fun dives but turn to sidemount in short order.
    Good luck next time around!

It's a jump on the right, about 400' past the half-hitch. When I was there on Saturday there were two double yellow arrows marking it, and at least two cookies.

Do pay attention to the slate at the entrance; if there is another team in the system, please do not enter unless you had coordinated it before you got in. You do not want to meet a team coming from the opposite direction in Rocky Horror.

Just re-reading my earlier post and realized I had a "senior moment" If you can get to "Mainland" from the Mt Offshoot, that would be one hell of a dive and you would go into the record books for sure! I meant to say the "Courtyard" Once again, and as Ken mentioned, be sure and sign in on the slate.

Thanks guys, I was aware of a sign being there before Rocky Horror which lead me to realize I was in the wrong place at 1800 ft. Roto-Rooter is still a really cool place to see, even if there is a RB diver in front of you (jk). Anyways, I guess I have a new Madison trip to plan.

At one time, one of the arrows at the jump had "Mount" on it.

Just past the Mount double arrow jump there is a nice little sidemount tunnel to the right that will dump you out onto the Mount Offshoot line closer to Rocky Horror. I found it by accident my first time in there. I enjoy it more than the Mount Offshoot.

I found that one by accident too, but I never realized that it actually connected to the Mount Offshoot.
