I'm getting a half hour of deco at 20ft with a deco SAC of 0.5. Here's a quick chart.

I suggest checking the hairline for a 666

Someone with a .5 SAC sitting at a ledge at 20ft for 30 min would have to carry a ton of gas to rack up 30 min of deco at Ginnie.

I doubt it was actually used for deco by a cave diver. I'll bet some free diver grabbed it in the ear and used it for a hero dive around to the eye then played around in the caverns some.

Looking at Al's tank I really don't think anyone would have mistaken it for theirs. That was a short term "joy ride" theft. He's lucky he got it back. and even luckier nobody ox tox'd or got bent.

I had the same thought initially as soon as I read about the freedivers and the different positions.
Would make quite some impressive dive to some bystanders etc. to go from the ear to the eye on "one breath"..

What does not add up though is that way to much gas has been used for a single turn.
Doing it over and over again ? Would soon show the scam.. So I soon came to the conclusion that Freedive use seemed unlikely again..

So, was the regulator bag replaced over the reg and hose stowed (showing some concern that they'd used something that was not theirs), or was it flapping in the breeze? I must have missed this detail if it were described earlier.

The cover was not on the regulator when I found it.
