Or dump the windows and go with something else. That's what I did and never looked back since.

It's a scare tactic for the anti-virus companies.

Honestly, the estimates for true infection are VERY low....

If you keep a good antivirus program installed and up-to-date and running in the background, and if you don't click on attachments or links to unsolicited E-mail messages, you'll be fine.

The virus threat is called KAMA SUTRA(or something like that).

You have to laugh at the name of the virus. It was on the ticker this morning during GMA. Nothing like naming the virus after ancient chinese sexual positions and advice!

    Oops....meant Indian, not chinese.

Human Evolution makes me wonder: from HomoErectus to HomeSapiens, from Dry Caves to Wet Caves. Nevertheless, from HomoErectus to HomeSapiens, from Org. Caves still to Org. Caves! DAMN ...

This is the latest information that I read about this virus:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Nyxem.E virus, expected to start deleting files today (Feb 3rd), has not done as much damage as many experts predicted.

As many as 300,000 Windows computers across the globe were known to be infected with the virus. However, security groups believe that very few users were ultimately affected by the virus, and even less lost data. Experts suggested that the wide publicity the virus received prior to today lead to users patching up and deploying anti-virus solutions.

Mail filters have intercepted over a million copies of the Nyxem.E virus, which is a variant of code originally seen in early 2004. When the virus infects PCs, it deletes files of eleven popular formats. It is set on a timer, set to 'go off' on the 3rd of every month. The virus tricked users into running the program by the promise of pornography.
