tire in ear

So I did a late afternoon dive at Ginnie on Saturday and entering the ear noticed a large tire in the ear in the sand underneath the log. My dive buddy on Sunday also dove Saturday and did not notice the tire (it is hard to miss when entering at the ear). I was not down in cave country long enough to do a removal dive and was just curious if it is now going to be a new feature as it does offer an opportunity to serve as an open water tie off for those (mainly instructors I think) that choose to run a real in the ear. So should the new feature stay or go? Am also curious as to why and how it got where it is...needless to say and unusual event. Bill

From seeing a recent pic of how little was holding the log in place, I wonder if it was placed to keep from totally closing off the ear. Just speculating why/how it would have gotten there.
