I've only dove LR once. Looking at the picture the water over the spring is clear as opposed to tannic river water. How would one judge LR's flow from the surface other than boil. I would assume that because the water's clear, there's probably decent flow pushing out clear spring water. I know look for a boil, but a long time cave diver once told me that when the water is that high looking for a boil at LR didn't really tell you much. If there's a big boil it's pumping. If there's no boil and the water's high it could be pumping and you wouldn't know. Any truth to that?

You are right. I didn't see a boil, but it has to be pumping to disperse the river water.

I've been to LR via boat many times and tied off at the top of the hill fence near the parking lot ,2013
granted Barney would have had to had his pants pulled up to his neck just to keep his wallet dry if he walked in
one visit when the river was low and we were not diving , we were tied of on the west side just past the stairs
and in 2014 Barney said no boats IN the spring run so we move out to the down river side withe all the LOCALs

hope to get out on the river this week and run up there

Dove LR Sunday 4/19 vis excellent and current quite strong. Good workout to get to the back of the Florida room and an excellent flight on the return trip.
