Default No Diving until March at Blue Spring, Orange City Florida

FYI.... Blue Spring in Orange City, Florida is actively 'enforcing' a policy of NO swimming or diving if there is a manatee in the water. There will be manatees there until mid March (my best guess). Essentially this closes the place to diving for a few (winter) months.

Here is a link to the official state park site:

    Default Clarification Please...

Do you know if they reopen the spring to divers after the manatees leave the run? Typically the manatees head out sometime late morning.

Is this a "new & improved with more teeth" enforcment program, or is this to the same level as it has been in the past?

This is my new, non petition inclusive, signature line.

Yeah that is a good description of the new policy...

There were 120 manatess in the run last week.. tons this week too, so there is nearly always some in the headspring part... at least the past month.
