Default Catfish. Big catfish. HOOOOGE catfish.

Think about that the next time you slide into some murky water.

caught in Italy is thought to be the biggest ever reeled in with a rod and line
How do you land something that size? The line would break if you tried to pull it ashore. A net would have to be pretty big

When I move things that size I use a tractor and a logging chain.

When I need to move something that size I just poke it in the ribs and say "dear, you're snoring again."

Noodling. Jam your fist in its mouth and pull!

Land of Enchantment -- not so great for cave diving, but mighty scenic!

I caught one that size on a cane pole with 4lb test line. You just have to work them a while to tire them out before you pull them in the boat. Nothing to it, really.

    I've seen some big ones.
Nothing that would compare to that one.
I've seen pics of a couple 5-6' blues caught in a Damb but 8' is a whole other story!
Biggest personally ever swam with was in the 55-60lbs flathead. I caught the smaller 25lb flat head by hand.
He would have been tasty but opted to release.
It was about the battle all underwater!
Cool to battle one by hand the release it under water!

When we used to noodle turtles and such the catfish will take a hold of you!
    Underwater they will as well!
The look on the group we were diving with was priceless!
I was smart enough to not let him get past my thumb, they get tougher to get off your arm!

I would completely fill a diaper if that swam up to me in low vis water. However I would love to have all that meat in my freezer.
