    Default Jug (with vid)

My regular dive buddy was out of town, so I dove Jug with a couple of friends. The water was a little cloudy with some particulate. The flow was up. Honestly, it was an awesome, relaxing, couldn't get much better dive...

What camera and video lights were you using? The video light the other diver is holding is that one of the Big Blue lights?

I was using two DRIS impact stubby lights with the video heads on my helmet ($129 each)

The big one he was holding was a big blue 15000 lumen, Wayne loaned it to us to try out. Honestly considering its HUGE SIZE and number of LED's ... and PRICETAG ... we were not impressed with it. for the amount of light it gave, I would not pay $1600+ for it.

Oh, and the camera was a gopro hero 3 silver ... helmet mounted. (sorry it got bumped up in the bedding plane. I wish that angle was a little lower)

Nice video but that has got to be the most unusual music selections for a cave video ever.

I haven't used one but that light is bright and I think it would do better in a bigger cave pointed down the tunnel. There were a few places in the video where this occured and it seemed to do a good job.

It doesn't look like the big blue light is intended for video.

It would be a whole lot more useful for video with a wider beam. It's not really practical to have that many lumens concentrated into a 10 degree spot.

The diver wearing it said the canister was way too big, it was the size of a big folgers coffee can. Like I said, the cons outweighed the pros, at least for our purposes. It really didn't add much in the way of benefits to the dive. I can find a much better way to spend $1600

I don't think *that* Big Blue light is. Based on it's shape, the style of handle, and the tightness of the beam, it sure looks like a TL15000P. If that's correct, it's a focused beam light intended for use as a primary.

The VL15000P produces the same number of lumens, has a much wider beam angle of 120 degrees (instead of 10 degrees) and is much better suited for video. I've spent some time carrying them during video shoots and they throw a lot of light in a very wide beam. It looks quite a bit different than what I see in this video.

Nice video. That's a decent bit of flow.

I think Rusted Root fits well. One of the best bands I've ever seen live.

I just said that "I felt" that it was unusual...nothing more nothing less. I was waiting for Osceola to come jumping out at any time after or around 3:10 mins.
