I'm used to wet dive gear. I was not, however, prepared to have to peel the ice out of my mask this morning at Peacock. Brrrrrrrr!!! Pass the mask de-icer!
No way!? I saw those temps for FL, and wondered if it was true? TJ was a SA in a text the other day (imagine that), saying ya'll worry about ice and snow down there, ha! Last laugh.... It's pretty weird up here (TN) at the moment, as we're just not programmed for this kind of cold. FL is such the case, I'll assume. Hugs and warm kisses, for sure.

Yeah, and now it's the 21st. I must have been hallucinating that it was still the 10th and I was still in Florida cave diving.

18 below zero when I got up this morning. Fortunately no wind. Only 229 days until we leave for Florida again.

Orange grove was frozen over. A combo ice dive, cave dive.

I am currently in sunny south Florida, in Pompano Beach. A couple days ago my wife and I were taking a walk and stopped to watch a television crew film a "Hello Sunny" spot promoting tourism in the Fort Lauderdale area. A guy in a yellow sun costume was interviewing 4 models/actors with beautiful bodies barely covered in beautiful beach attire. They were raving about all the fun in the sun that people could have if they would just come down to visit sunny south Florida. I suppose they are hoping none of the potential tourists will wonder why the beach behind them was completely deserted. The camera, of course, did not sweep around to show that the entire television crew and all the spectators were wearing parkas and ski hats. As soon as the filming was concluded, the beautiful models/actors were covered in blankets or ski parkas in an attempt to get their body core temperatures up to a level that would support life.
