Didnt think you could count intro dives? ...

You can't. The concern is Intro divers not following the guidelines for their level of training. They could do hundreds of dives at full cave level, and still not get the Abe Davis award.

How is it reviewed now, an instructor checks your log book. Yes you got cheaters but who's to say we don't now?

I believe an NSS-CDS instructor has to sign off, or a board member. The diver must complete 100 safe post-certification(Full Cave) dives. This differs a little with other organizations that require 100 hours in the cave zone.

Congrats, I'm working my way honestly.
I am one of those fellas who dove a few years before getting my Full / Cave cert.
Do I have the magic number? Yes but not honest post Full / Cave cert.
When asked by a few buddies I've dove with they just shrugg and shake their heads.
I in no way want to tarnish or make light of those who have earned their Abe Davis honestly!

I'm totally happy recounting dives post cert. when I hit the magic # I'll let Shirley know!
Till then I'm loving every dive and planning on a hXXl of lot more than 100!
