It seems like Madison would be safe to dive as long as it is springing.
Unfortunately on two occasions when this has happened the cave had reversed, but the debate is open whether it was actively reversing. These is concern by the state, and I hope we don't see closure of a site, like what happened in Mexico due to E coli etc.

If my math is correct this is event number 3 within a 1 year period of time. I know in many cases the fines are cheaper that the actual solution. It took a law suit to get Tallahassee to work on correcting the issue related to Wakulla.

At a cost of almost 37 million dollars The new Sewage Treatment Center for the City of Valdosta Ga. is scheduled to be completed around November of this year. About time!

This is normal for those of us who live on the Mighty Ohio, and I'm sure for those that live on the Mississippi. I'm a kayaker too, and we get regular fecal counts for the river. Dry spells are actually better, because it's when it rains too much that the storm drain systems and the sewage systems all up and down the rivers can't handle the influx. The MSD in Cincinnati is over 100 years old and counting. Your shovel ready jobs for infrastructure repair and replacement going dormant. Who was it that was going to fix that? Hmmm......

There are 3 kinds of people in this world; those who are good at math, and those who are not.
