Jack contributed much to the community. He will be dearly missed. Very sad indeed.

I admit to not knowing what to make of Jack initially, but I did grow fond of hearing him ask hard questions at some annual meetings.
I'm glad I spent a few minutes chatting with him this past October at the NACD seminar. I didn't know he spent over three decades in law enforcement. I have a lot of respect for that and will certainly miss him at future cave diving gatherings.
(A buddy of mine from the Georgia based TV show asked me about getting certified back in early October and I asked Jack about it and Jack gave me his business card to pass on to him, which I did. Not sure if my buddy followed up after we wrapped in late November but I hope he did.)

Jack you will be missed. You always said if there was only one cave you could dive you would take Devils in Ginnie. You always were so enthusiastic and would complement me on my photos while showing me your video. My heart goes out to you Jackie. If there is ever anything I can do please let me know.

I don't come on here much any more, but I just got news of Jack's passing. He was a heck of a guy. He pushed us all (mainly by pushing our buttons!) and I really grew to love his rants. He certainly never let us get complacent about our views, opinions or ideas!

RIP Jack. it was an honour to have known you, and the community has lost a great member.
