Sorry but GUE was not founded until 1998...which is not 20 years. It's 17 if including 2015. I do not know if they / you started out using rebreathers or not.

Sorry, by the definition, GUE as an orginization wasn't using rebreathers before it's inception. It was just some of the WKPP members who later founded GUE.

    Semantics...

I too find it confusing that WKPP is located on the GUE web site. Do you have to be GUE trained to be part of the WKPP?

You did when GI3 was around. They are a little more lax now, but you still have to follow the GUE protocol.

No. Full cave + 100 dives and a normoxic trimix cert. Any agency will do but we expect divers to adhere to our protocols.

Gue is more than just a training agency.

there are plenty of great cave divers without GUE cave training. but everyone does need to be on the same page procedures-wise

Thanks for the clarification, I didn't think so.

Normoxic trimix requirement seems pretty minimal since there seems to quite a bit of diving below 200'. Do these people only get support roles then ?

Yes. Even if someone had a hypoxic certification they wouldn't be doing dives deeper than 200' right off the bat. We're a pretty conservative group and generally introduce divers into more complex stuff gradually.

I think its also worth noting that 'support roles' are often more involved than shuttling some deco tanks to 70ft. There's a ton of stuff that's real cool but still 'support'.

I have followed DIR, GUE and WKPP since 1999. Could you provide me with a list of the protocols?
