The NSS-CDS BoD just voted to close Cathedral cave. The main reasons are the condition of the deck, the low visibility, and the line is buried in many places.

The NSS-CDS BoD just voted to close Cathedral cave. The main reasons are the condition of the deck, the low visibility, and the line is buried in many places.
Good decision for now based on your dive but still sad news.

Terrible.
Deck is fixable. Line is fixable. Vis is variable.
Better stop diving at alachua too. I heard the vis gets low in there too.
How many people have dove Cathedral in the last 3 years?
And when they're fixed it would likely be reopened. If it's that big of an issue, volunteer to help fix it.Originally Posted by PfcAJ

It seems disingenuous to ask public and private landowners to keep their sites open when the CDS has closed nearly all of theirs. I think this sets a bad precedent.

Can't fix the line of it's closed...
Conditions are not likely to improve so they may as well sell the property.
Does anyone regularly check?
