Giselle and I had a great time the this year. The Galaxy dive was more awesome than usual. Thank you Russell for reluctantly setting it all up, and Piranha Dive Manufacturing (http://www.piranhadivemfg.com/) and Dive Right In Scuba (http://www.diverightinscuba.com/) for donating some pretty cool #### for us to give away.

Well, GL and I are back home now. I would like to thank all who took part in this year's event. Turnout was down, but I attribute that to it not being a weekend.
There's something magical about beginning a new year in an underwater cave. It's even more rewarding when half a dozen first-timers come up to me after the Galaxy Dive and thank me for allowing them to take part. (There was another group there who joined us.)
The timing was a little off this year. We usually get in the cavern about fifteen minutes before midnight, then have to sit and wait. This time I actually got into position at the grate at 11:56, and the last participants got into the cavern and turned off their lights at 11:59.
Hijack: I feel the need at this time to jank on Greenwood for the amount of time it took him to get himself wedged in at the grate in position to release the juice. The little flute player took about ten seconds, and the big, bad football player took several minutes!
This year we had two ziplocks full of glow juice; I had green and Jason had red. We released them at 11:59:45 and it may have been the best light show to date.
Official thanks to everyone who brought stuff for the cookouts. Also, three CDF members who couldn't attend PayPalled me some funds to get soda pop and buns and paper goods and charcoal and cocoa mix and everything. I won't embarrass them by naming them here, but believe me, *I* know who they are.
Now we need to figure out when and where the next social will be!

I hadn't planned on being at Ginnie for this but my girlfriend who's house I was staying at for Christmas had to work so I decided to come up and get a few dives in the area. Tracy Neisent was nice enough to be my tour guide as I probably only had about a 1/2 dozen dives in Ginnie. We did 2 nice scooter dives and 1 swim dive where she took me on the tour of the smaller stuff in Ginnie. It was a blast and I am sure for the people who dive it regularly it is not very exciting as I feel that way about JB after a couple hundred dives there. It was also nice meeting some new friends as well as some older ones. Thanks again Tracy for the tour of Ginnie you looked great in the water. I am jealous everytime I dive with you. You go through the tight stuff so easily and your technique leaves me good viz unlike a lot of others that I dive with.Bring your reel with knotted line on it when you come up to my part of Florida and I will take you somewhere to empty it.
Was anyone wearing a GoPro 3 Black? Would love to see the video from the new low light cameras.

Connie and I just got home from a great few days in cave country. We were first timers to the social and enjoyed every minute of it. It was great meeting everyone and the Galaxy Dive was something to remember!
