Last weekend, project divers Charlie Roberson and Bob Schulte explored and surveyed 777' of passage extending Madison Blue Springs to p. 6,450.' While surveying Sheck's line (the end of the Courtyard passage) the previous weekend, the team spotted a potential lead. On Saturday Nov. 22nd, they returned to push the lead and after approximately 100' of low bedding plane the passage opened up into larger scooterable passage with significant flow. With Charlie laying line and Bob surveying, the team explored 370' of new passage tying off in 10' x 10' conduit with strong flow. The next day, the team pushed scooters through the bedding plane entrance and scootered to the end of the previous day's line. Bob tied in and dumped an entire reel of line (407') while on the trigger and surveyed on the way out. The last 100' of passage proved to be somewhat smaller and just past the eol the passage turns sidemount but still has significant flow. The team plans to return to "the backyard" in the near future.
