Do not go gentle into that good night.
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I really appreciate the differing perspectives.
When my card arrived. It said I was a cave diver right on the front of it. Now if only the cave could read :-P

With ONLY 160 cave dives logged I still certainly consider myself a diver in training and try to keep myself humble and learn from those who are more experienced . Maybe after a couple hundred more dives , trimix card , and some diepolder and eagles nest dives I can call myself a cave diver ,for now I have alot to learn.
Thanks to all those instructors/teachers and mentors who have takin time to work with me and bring me to this point .
Very much enjoying the path of progression .
I like #13...I am now able to not focus on the line and enjoy the cave.

I'm pushing 300 safe cave dives, and I am still learning.
I trained a geologist and cave instructor at the instructor trainer level with 1500+ exploration dives in no flow/low flow caves using scooters, trimix, rebreathers, and even construction and scientific equipment ... then he met Devil's Ear and he looked like an intro student. Was he a cave diver before experiencing a high flow cave? He sure didn't look it on his first exit out the Ear. I think you are a cave diver after full cave. You get good at diving caves you dive a lot or in a region you dive a lot. New caves might turn teacher or expert into student or novice.

The day Garth McClune received his full ccr cave status I considered myself to a cave diver.
I've been surviving my cave dives but wouldn't consider that something to define a cave diver status.
I think the one thing that excites me is being IN a cave more than being a cave diver.
Jim are you going to come back to cave country some time in your life though?
