is there a waterproof regular kindle? with the buttons?
they say they can waterpoof anything...though I'm sure that's an exaggeration, and touchscreens will be an issue even if they are waterproof. $99 http://waterfi.com/all-products/waterproofing-service

Always the option to use an Iphone.... http://www.igills.com/ Price is a bit better as well... only in the $300 range.
For music I have an older version of this...http://www.amazon.com/iriver-SV-i700.../dp/B00068DURQ
The older version I have (I have 2) works great and I have had it to 30m regularly listening to music (mainly pink Floyd and the new album, Endless River, should be great listening in a cave). I do not use the mp3 player that comes with it but just stick an apple shuffle inside the case. You can't control the play or volume but once set it works very well and just be sure you like your whole playlist. Bill

None of this sounds very "Hogarthian". Just sayin. 😉
