Mark- you coming to TAG? I'm debating.
Jason,
I really enjoyed your class this weekend. Thanks for taking the time to volunteer your time and skills to try and teach me how to survey. I really enjoyed it and in my opinion you are a great ambassador for cave diving.
Thanks! I hope you guys got a good start out of that- I apologize it wasn't longer. It's hard to jam that much information into two days, impossible really. It looked like everyone was getting the hang of the line plot, the sketches....well, with some practice.![]()
I am glad it went well. Hopefully I can do the next one.

Along with thanking Jason, I want to add a public note of thanks to Ben for all his help with this class- from setting up our survey routes, mimicking some of the head-scratching line-laying we sometimes see on our dives, so that we could have the fun of trying to figure out what we would do in the water when faced with a similar circumstance to actually try to survey; being our safety-diver; and offering helpful tips, both in and out of the water. Not to mention the welcome treats shared from the other half of his personal survey team.
Fellow class-mates Eric, Mike, Terry, & Tracy, thanks for keeping the class just about a perfect size, helping me not have all the wrong numbers for each of the measurements every time, and putting up with Niko and I hurrying to be the first team in for our sketch/survey dive on Sunday, so that he and I could also get in Niko’s first non-JB dive in the Mill Pond at Twin, and still get me home before 1 am.
Niko, thanks again for buying those tanks from me 2 years ago, so that we could have even more fun getting to take this class together and have a chance to catch up. Oh yeah, and it was great working with someone who is so easy to dive with – or diving with someone who is so easy to work with.
Most of all, Jason, thanks so much for this class, the work you’ve done and continue doing to explore and survey new playgrounds for us other kids to enjoy, and your dedication to passing along the skills and techniques so others can further increase our collective knowledge. b
LoL! Yes some of us need to spend time in the cavern zone sketching things. It was a great class. I learned a lot and everyone was great company. Thanks again Jason. I agree with Stu, thank you Ben for helping out
