Oliver everyone already knows that scootering in twin is just not acceptable...... Before you know it everyone will be scootering caves like Telford and then on to Anderson. Oh the horror created!
That's a tough question to answer as everyone's different. I typically tip them after a weekend of diving in Marianna and they've done more than just lugged my tanks, so I tip them more than others that are diving for the day. I'd say if you've got two people on the boat and they've done a good job as they've always do, and they've given you a bunch of hints about your dives, I'd drop $10-20 (usually $20) in their jar. If there's more than 2 divers then I'd say $10 a piece. If they've helped me sort out gear issues or other things they didn't really need to do I will often tip them more, and hand it directly to whoever specifically helped me while thanking them. The tip jar is nice but often it's impersonal, so if one peron went above and beyond I want them to know how much it was appreciated.
I added the tipping comment for two reasons. First the guys at CA seem to go above and beyond the staff at other dive shops and deserve the tips more than others. Two, I know that our tipping standards in the US are different than abroad, so thought it would be good to make it known it's not required but greatly appreciated by the guys when they bust their butt to help.
Again, this is all suggestions and tips by no means are required. You'll see that usually when the boats need to be loaded, there's also people wanting fills, or passes for the park, so they really get run ragged in the morning.
I do the same when I rent a boat and they help load/unload gear, $20/day. I want to help make sure they still work there when I return on my next trip.
