Very cool. Is the strobe being used as an easily seen directional marker because you're scootering in such huge cave?

Yes, we often use them for that purpose - in a large room or passage it enables you to find the line again easily when you're exploring off to the side. It's often not practical to scout around the walls of a large room while running a reel. You could have your buddy stay on the line and we often do that, but in deep large cave it's much more efficient for each team member to take one side and both use the strobe for reference. It is very reassuring to glance behind you and easily see your exit point.Originally Posted by rddvet
