Default WTB: small SM travel setup, SMS50, small wing, etc

I'm traveling to Mexico in a couple months and not sure if I want to haul my big SMS100D with me via air travel.

I currently have my travel "rig" that is a home made harness that I usually just stick a single SM AL80 to either side and monkey dive. I've even used this rig before and rented a jacket BC (removed the cam bands on the back) to put over my harness and was able to sidemount that in a cave successfully.

However, I would like something a little more "complete" for traveling with.

I'm looking for either one of the old DR butt lift wings, or even a small wing that has the power inflation port on it. I don't wish to pay $$$$$$$$ for certain new harnesss wings either.

I'd also be very interested in seeing if anyone has an SMS50 they would like to let go of.

I am also open to other options too. I just need something small and light that's easy to cram in a suitcase for flying with. My only other BC is a HOG BP/Wing combo, but that's also pretty bulky to travel with too.

Let me know what yall got!

Just get a small, cheap, used OW BCD, and use it like you mention in paragraph 2. You aren't going to get any cheaper, or more complete.

take a look at the new HOG sidemount rig. It's HIGHLY configurable, small, inexpensive, light, etc. You can find them at HOG dealers such as Amigos Dive Center and DiveRightInScuba.

Yes Jordan, I will post that I'm a distributor for HOG here.

I know you said you don't want to pay money for a new branded SM wing, but the Stealth wing is pretty nice. I have the whole stealth setup that I bought specifically for travel ease. You can buy just the wing although it's not the cheapest. I know a few people that have built their own harness and throw the wing on top.

Steve, aren't you a HOG dealer?

Richard, sorry, I'm not a HOG dealer. I'm a distributor. I sell to dealers not to the public. Also, those dealers are in Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, etc, not NA.

I know but I have to play straight so as not to leave any doubt in the minds of dealers.

LOL... actually I do want to find some loud webbing to use for my harness one of these days. Why's all our gear gotta be black!?

The Seac setup looks nice and compact, similar to the style of the SMS50's small package. Just want something at a used price since I won't be using it very often.

yeah, the stealth wing is way too much for what it is

A friend sent me a link to this... Im thinking it may be the way to go:

Thanks for all the suggestions so far
