Hi all, to register go to http://www.nacdmembers.com/store/ind...products_id=92. For NACD members, the cost is $40. For non-members, the cost is $10 more. Be sure to include your tee shirt size.

The social on Friday, October 3 will be at the Ginnie Pavilion. Plan to stop in around 5:30PM. We will provide supper and you can pick up your goodie bag. As in the past, we will have a band for your enjoyment.

Thanks to some very supportive sponsors, we have many nice door prizes waiting for you, and a number of vendors will be on site. One vendor is SEAC who has graciously donated a dry suit! To have a chance at this and many more prizes, register for the seminar.

We look forward to seeing you in October. More info to follow.

    Safe diving,

    Sandy Robinson

    Thanks MichaelAngelo!

As the NACD Conservation Chair, Michael Angelo has been active with fauna counts in Florida and Missouri. He is in the process of adding Texas to the list. MA will be at the seminar to discuss his work and what it means to the caves we enjoy diving.

Do you need a place to stay for the seminar? The Paramount Plaza(where the seminar is being held) has given all NACD members a discounted rate for the seminar. The rate of $82 compares to a $109+ rate on their site and tripadvisor. You can make reservations by calling (877) 992-9229. Their local number is 352-377-4000, and their website is www.paramountplaza.com. Call before September 19 to guarantee this rate.

If you prefer to stay elsewhere there are some other hotels within a mile of the Paramount.

Start off the NACD seminar at Ginnie Springs for our annual members/attendee cookout on Friday, October 3. We will start the festivities around 6PM with a chili contest with prizes for the hottest, best tasting, and most exotic. Afterwards, enjoy chili or burgers and dogs on the grill. End the evening by listening to Scott Butsch and his band.

Entry to Ginnie for the cookout will be free to NACD members. Also, all NACD members will be able to dive for the 'full" cave price of $22 whether you are cavern, intro, or apprentice. Entry for non-members will be $3

So after the Friday night social, join us for the annual seminar at the Paramount in Gainesville, Fl on Saturday, October 4. We are doing something different this year by reducing the number of presenters so that attendees have more time to mingle with vendors.

Presenters( and topics) include Rick Murcar(Lalo Fiorelli - Hidden Splendors of the Yucatan), Michael Angelo Gagliardi and Mike Stine(Fauna Counts and their importance to your caves), Jennifer Idol (Cave Photography) and Bob Schulte (exploration). We will have one more presentation to be announced.

We will also have the annual members meeting after lunch. Speaking of the annual meeting, let us know if you have a diving milestone to be recognized - 100, 500, or 1,000 cave dives or hours.

The NACD has two BOD slots up for election. These position expire as the end of the year. One is a Director seat and the other is an Instructor Director position. If you wish to nominate anyone, it must be at or before the meeting.

We have some great prizes including computers, dry suits, regs, mask, air cards, tees, DVDs, books, travel cases, and much more.

The seminar weekend will conclude on Sunday at Wes Skiles Peacock Springs State Park on Sunday where we will have the 2nd Town Hall meeting. You can forward your topic to me as a pm or bring it to the meeting.

Register for the seminar at www.nacdmembers.com. Register by Sunday, September 21 for a free teeshirt.

    Hope to see you there.
