Default Further knowledge of side passages

Just wanted to get information on how caves and side passages got there names. If anybody could give me a little cave diving history on this it would be greatly appreciated. Im tired of swimming passage's and not knowing why its hill 400 or why its bone line and so on and so on so if anyone can id like to start like were at the devils eye and ear and just start naming the passages and why they are called that and maybe a brief history on it we can just stick with ginnie springs cave for now thanks alot - Adam

The bats is the easy one. It's because someone put bats on the line.

The beetle tunnel is about someone playing with beetle miniature cars before the dive

    Siphon tunnel.....well it siphons

Mud flats is self explanatory. Mind u it should be renamed to scooter dents alley

I think hill 400 because of the distance from entrance + name of of the the surveyors. Hillier tunnel...similar.

Locals, feel free to correct me.

White room/double domes/maple leaf also self explanatory

I'm interested in knowing: Ice room, B/S tunnel, skid row, expressway tunnel, wormhole, insulation tunnels, kappa beta

Would anyone know what makes "DeLoach's Delight" in Jackson Blue so "delightful"?
Right at the entrance to the tunnel there is a nice "chandelier" on the ceiling, it looks like it might be Goethite.
It is very pretty, but the rest of the tunnel was so highly uneventful that I wondered what would make it special.

I believe hill 400 is so named bc the big hill is about 400 feet after you take the jump.

wormhole due to its size and shape, not related to Roger Werner that I am aware of. Insulation tunnel because the fluffy bacteria growth (that used to be so thick and plentiful) on the floor looked like old fiberglass insulation. Skid Row at one time used to have thick very unconsolidated silt that was easy to disturb, that is how it got its name.

Add: Cat Skat room or Devils Gizzard as the alternate name,is plentiful in catfish, and their excrement.
Berman room- named after Steve Berman

I have always been curious on the naming of Lucifer's Living Room

Insulation rooms have an insulation like substance on the floor.

Cornflakes used to have cornflakes looking rocks on the bottom there.

Wonder tunnel is bc you wonder why you're there.

Skid row is low and therefore has marks all over.

That's what Rich said when we did the tunnel. Despite the 3-5' viz in there due to intrusion, i had a blast in that little stretch. The wavyness in the floor (rocks or sand) was neat. The wall color was also different due to the intrusion staining the place.
