    Hey Guys, I'm no tax expert! I was told to add up all the money I give to organzations and it was quite a bit. I am not sure if a lodge is a 401 what ever organization or a social one. I think getting paid advice is a great idea. Maybe I'll get Bill to do my taxes this year, it's getting to complicated for me. Cindy

    Dues are not deductable if you receive something of value in return for them. If the organization breaks out the value of the "things", then you can deduct the remainder, but otherwise, its NOT deductable.

    GIFTS (that is, money given to a 501c(3) BEYOND dues) ARE deductable, again, provided you receive either nothing of value in return OR you get a receipt showing what the value of that "something" is, and remove that from the deduction claim.

    This hasn't changed in a long time.....
