Default Peacock reversal???? keep an eye on the gauges

The river gauge at White Springs has shown a 5ft increase from 3/12 to 3/18,and this is 52 river miles away from Peacock. There is a lot of water heading south, and not sure of what the results will be to Peacock, but please stay tuned. The NFSA will post updates as we know them, here and the Facebook page. Plus,South Georgia got a lot of heavy sustained rains.

How long does it normally take for the wave to make its way all the way to peacock area?

This weekend they are showing the Suwannee at Luraville at 32ft,which is 3ft below action stage, and 5 ft below flood stage. Does this mean Peacock will reverse by this weekend? Not sure because there are other factors that come into play, such as hydrostatic pressure of the spring. As mentioned I would keep a close eye on gauges because there is the possibility it could reverse.

Intent of my post is to respond to numerous emails and PMs about Peacock since people are planning spring break. The purpose of my post is to have people be aware of the local rains and what USGS gauges are saying. I can't predict what Peacock is going to do,nor will I try. I think people are taking this as a definite and cancelling t stays with local shops, but we are only saying just take note of local conditions.

Looks like the Suwannee at White Springs will crest around Wed,and Suwannee Springs around Friday, the good news is none of these crests are in the action stage area (so below flood stage). Luraville station is showing 31.9' this weekend, which is well below flood stage. This doesn't mean you may not see tannic intrusion entering the system from vents in the river, but hopefully this means we won't see a full reversal. Worth noting, the Santa Fe is going to reach minor flood stage.
