Made my first trip to cave country as a certified cave diver earlier this month and dove Little River and Peacock/Orange Grove. Like an earlier post said, the water levels were high and the tannic acid at Little River was strong, though I have no prior experience to compare it to. I was told the flow at Little River was less than usual...still a workout for me! The tannic water made for a beautiful view looking up at the 15' safety stop. I wanted to do an OW dive at Troy Springs on the 7th but it was closed to divers.
I lucked out and found a dive buddy who's also been a great mentor. Al (shellmoundal) did a great job of organizing the dive around my experience and limits and it made for some very enjoyable dives. Gave me some great feedback/advice also. Between Al and Rob Neto (my Instructor) I feel like I'm building a solid foundation in cave diving.
