    Default Diving Today!

I'm sitting at the boat ramp on Merritt's Mill pond waiting for my buddy. It's 38° F, and raining. Headed for Hole in the Wall. It doesn't get any better! Woo hoo!!!!

Sent from behind a pint of Guinness.

No video this trip. We were diving an unfamiliar section of the cave, actually brand new to us. I don't like to film in unfamiliar cave. Tonight was just an initial foray. Next week, we'll take stages and really explore it. After 2 or 3 dives, I'll take the GoPro. No reason other than I like the increased comfort level that familiarity gives me before I task load. I carry my camera on a tray and that takes a lot of concentration for me.

Most of my video is shot in unfamiliar (i.e. virgin) cave I carry my camera on my helmet, and it takes very little concentration.

I've tried the head mounted thing and don't like it for me. I end up with a lot of camera movement. One friend even remarked that he can get a little motion sick watching video shot that way. I don't think I jerk around that much, but hand carried yields better results for me. That and I am always in a state of extra awe when in new cave, I'm just having a hoot looking around! My buddy and I were both whooping it up last night, I could here his "woo hoos", even on OC!

It is mostly because that may be the only time anyone goes in some of the places I have on video. I do agree about the movement problem, though.
