Default Found rubber valve knob in Jackson Blue

Today I found a standard rubber valve knob in black. It is not broken so it seems the screw would have come undone.
By the way, it's the second one I found this month and it seems like they must grow somehere in that cave....
If anyone is missing this one, I'll leave it with Cave Adventurers tomorrow.

I thought they were in Madison? I might be there next week looking for them

Maybe you can find them. Mike and I looked everywhere. They are probably in the bottom of Martz somewhere.

Might be from someone hitting the wall or ceiling and the stem broke which they are designed to in order to not damage the valve.
That or loose nut on it, you'll be surprised how loose some.of them are. Ron at DO noticed one of mine loose to the point it falls off and I check them several times a year.
Definately worth to be on the checklist to tighten/check them more often!

Rattling loosens them. I have noticed doubles that ride in the back of pickup trucks lose valve handwheels a lot more often than doubles that ride in carpeted environments such as cars and SUV interiors.

That must be it. Damn pickup trucks. That's where I broke of a stem as well by throwing 3 sets of doubles in the back trying to escape the mosquitos.
