Default Time for a contest! Cave Diver Spooks 2005

There are current cleanups of disasters in Florida and the Yucatan, and I don't mean to ignore that, but we should never pass up a chance for a good laugh or smile... even in the face of disaster... in my opinion anyway... Time for something a bit unusual! How about get your cameras out when you go cave diving (if you go cave diving) these next few days. Get a picture of anything spooky or 'halloweenish' but also has something, anything, to do with cave diving... and we'll vote on the winner. How about a special CDF long sleeve t-shirt (embroidered) for the winner?

Need an example? Here is a picture taken a few years ago at Peacock (Orange Grove). Note the spooky guy, in costume, on the far right?

This contest is world wide, but I do happen to know that there will be a lot of cave diving fanatics in north Florida this week/weekend, me included, so think ahead and take your spooky materials with you... and camera...

    Rules?

Picture(s) must be taken from now until midnight of the 1st of November 2005.

Picture(s) must be spooky or 'halloweenish' but also have something, anything, to do with cave diving.

Picture(s) can not be copyrighted material (unless your own).

Picture(s) can be uploaded to this site or a link to the picture(s), stored online elsewhere, is okay.

Picture can not be of Jammer.

    And most importantly, Be Safe!

As for the gentleman on the left: surely his sporty snorkel did not accompany him into the cave?

Believe it or not, but on that day, the snorkel was a necessary piece of cavern/cave diving gear.... http://216.224.240.11/Got_Training_ns.wmv

    8) My mistake - I'd forgotten about this video. Thanks for pointing out the necessary stage props!

So has anyone come up with something spookier than Jammer's avatar pic yet?

Yeah I win and make that $500.00 check out to Jammer thanks for all that was involved in some way but contest is over and the $500.00 is mine. Doc even said my avatar is the scariest pic he has seen and what Doc says goes around here. Thanks Doc for voting for me I will thank you all the way to the Dive Rite goodie shop.

I thought about seeing if they would let me submit it, I swear I have never seen anything that spooky, and I have seen a lot in my life time Spend the prize money well Jammer, you deserve it.

    Default What no spooks?

Guess there were no cave diving spooks out this year... at least none captured on camera... Oh well, we'll just have to give that shirt away, with other things, at the next cave diving workshop.... good thing I never mentioned that big cash prize...

    Maybe next year...

I say we do a CDF "Scavenger Hunt" with clues leading to marked prizes.

    Tshirts in ziplock bags

    Rubber chickens

    Pink Snorkels

    Single Yellow Force Fin

    Etc...

I may start by placing one in a couple of weeks and then posting some clues...
