What Ignorance and Foolishness Can Do To Our sport

I got this article in a news feed tonight and thought, "Oh My God! What short sighted thinking!" But then I realized this is something our sport must deal with on a daily basis. The actions of responsible and involved cave divers are what keeps our dive sites open so we need to support the organized efforts of the cave diving community.

Saw this on FB and it is typical of non-trained thought of caves or sinks, "overhead environments".
You are correct in that there are those on the front lines of these battles daily.
Take time to support those who are ever trying to open more dive ops, keep dive sites open, educate the general public that certified cave divers are different that OW divers!
It is sad to think that our loved caves are demonized by those who have no idea what they are talking about BUT THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS!
This is a time to support those who are working for us all!

Even some science related articles are sensationalized for entertainment value.
One time that bad press is not good!
If events and reality could prevail the world might become a brighter place!
