Default Scooter test dive in the Blue Grotto area?

I'm going to be picking up a couple of scooters in the Blue Grotto area in a couple of weeks. I'd like to drop them in the water somewhere to test drive them. Is there anywhere in that general area to do that?

    Thanks in advance!
    Chris

Royal wouldn't be a great place to test scooters-- not much room to move around, and the entire cave is a silty mess even in sidemount swimming.

There is Blue Spring Levy co (county park) - shallow pond of clear water, nothing says you cannot use scooter or scuba, perhaps 15 mins west from Blue Grotto. Ginnie (approx 30 mins north ) spring runs are option but if you don't have a DPV c-card you may try Rum Island (county or state park?) - again it is clear water and shallow although not much of a straight line room (probably requires a dive flag).

Thanks for all replies. I checked with Blue Grotto and they don't want DPVs during the weekend, which is when I'd be testing - too crowded they say.

Basically, any body of descent water will do - open water is fine. I just want to run the motors a bit. May not even don dive gear.

Any other options are still appreciated. (ARY - I'll check out those you mentioned).

The open water at royal is good if you want to spin in circles, but depending on conditions there might be murky water on top, so how much clear water you'll have to spin in circles is a gamble. Absolutely stupid to go in the cave there with it, and basically stupid to go in it without one, just stick to open water.

Or take a dive flag and charge $10 to drag people from the boat ramp to Telford.

Fanning spring might be a good option.

Fanning doesnt allow dpv. If river vis is ok with you then have a dive flag and ride to Gator spring on the west side of High Springs, there is a boat ramp and parking on the northern part of the bridge. The vis in the cave is slightly better than in the river when itis a drought (not sure about current vis). The spring is 9-10 o'clock from ramp across Santafe.
