what coordination? Dave is my friend and dive buddy and he wrote me an email to tell me how disappointed he was with the situation, I then proceeded to write that I find this dishonest which it is, nothing more, it is not an attack just an observation of the facts and I think I am far from alone in my opinion of this.

It doesn't matter how many days I was away now does it. What matters was I was busy working and away from my office for two weeks.

Now all that matters is SOMEONE ELSE is getting these regs...
It DOES matter how many days you were away. There's a big difference between 2 days and 2 weeks. If you were unable to send out the regs on a timely basis, you should have found someone to ship them out on your behalf. I mean really, it doesn't take very long to send out a package, I do it all the time.
On the other hand, major props to DiveRite, just another example of their excellent customer service. I support them wholeheartedly.

This is the sequence of the events that lead to this situation:

    1. Dave won the auction

    2. Curt (or whoever) didn't provide the regs in a timely fashion
    (first mistake)

    3. Curt was non-responsive to a point that made the buyer question what was going on.
    (second mistake)

    4. When Curt finally responded, he was unhappy with the tone of voice in the email he got back and decided that Dave wasn't "worthy" of the items he won
    (final mistake)

    5. Curt sent a refund, thereby ending the deal

Only at this point did Dave complain on the forum and certainly I can't blame him.

And now you're trying to convince us it is his fault and maybe Philips?

    No way...

The real reason for this mess is that Curt had his feelings hurt and completely overreacted. There is just no way to this should fly...
Anyone who justifies this is in the same boat with Curt.
well said, can not agree more...

Thank you for the great service Dive Rite !!

My new XT regulators just arrived, a little over 24hrs from when Jon contacted me. They look great and I look forward to getting them in the water! Thanks for the extra gift as well!!

It's amazing the difference between EXCELLENT service (Dive Rite) and terrible service.

I look forward to doing more business with Dive Rite in the future!

Yeah, I expect nothing less from Jon and the gang at Dive Rite. But in the end, all they did was clean up someone eles's mess. I do not know Curt, but his initial post was to intentially hurt someone. I do not want to know or associate myself with a person like that.

Everyone can have a bad day, me included.
Maybe lets not judge someone on one experience?

Agreed. I've met him before and he's nice enough. The issue is you add that with some of the ramblings from the old NACD threads (not saying I'm disagreeing with anything said), and you can have a case of the internet painting a very negative picture.

This seems a very unfortunate event and tons of miscommunication or poor communication. I think creating a webpage to raffle off the regs really looks pretty damn bad and honestly puts the donator in a very awkward position. Obviously Dive Rite did much more than they ever needed to.
