Default Peacock Springs Closed November 20th to all diving

A plan to move the boulder at Challenge has been approved, and the date has been set for Wednesday,November 20th. One concern we have is movement of a large rock like this will stir up a lot of silt, and potentially blow out large sections of cave, which will gradually move downstream. This sudden loss of viz could endanger teams in the water,so it was decided closure would be necessary. A Wednesday was chosen due to this typically is a low visitation day. Thank you for your understanding, and best wishes to the team volunteering to undertake this task.

Hope some go pros will be placed in the cave to catch the event! I have two to loan if needed.

We have that plan, just to be able to see what is happening without having people in the vicinity. From past experience when I have been in caves when something large like this has moved, put your Gopro in a YooHoo,and hit record.

And depending on how close the camera(s) are to the surface, the GoPro Wi-Fi mobile phone app may even work so you can watch on your phone.
(I don't expect it to work from deeper than the rock though, but you never know.)

For those who have invested time in this so far, I'd like to say thanks. It's a special place, it's great to have people that are willing to sacrifice their time and energy and that stand as representatives of the community. Thanks for being our voice--
