Many of you are aware that on September 18, 2013, Jackie and I experienced something that Mothers and Fathers should never have to deal with, and that was the death of our infant granddaughter who was only 6 days old, Anabelle Lee Moore (Gregory) http://www.wagesfuneralhome.com/obituaries/Anabellelee-Moore1538024/#!/Obituary. Needleless to say, it has been a rough journey for us this past month and we are now just getting back into the “real world” cycle of life again. For a guy who is pretty sarcastic and “tough” about everything, having worked in law enforcement for 36 years, I was brought to my knees and humbled like never before. For about 3 weeks, I could not leave the house or speak with anyone. Jackie was much the same way. I think that for those of you who have unfortunately experienced a tragedy like this, you know what I’m getting at.
We are now just finding out how many of you in the cave diving community expressed your condolences to us in so many thoughtful ways. From messages left, flowers and other arrangements sent, to sympathy cards (many from people who we have never met) to personally coming over to the house, we are really in awe. We, of course, would expect this from family, but we have been literally taken back by all your generosity, love, and kindness. For that, we say thank you in a way that comes from the deepest part of our souls. Our special thanks to John LaManna, Wayne Kinard and Jacki and Joel Clark.
Daddy please don`t look so sad, Mommy please don`t cry.
I am in the arms of Jesus and He sings me lullabies.
Please do not try to question God, don`t think He is unkind.
Don`t think He sent me to you and that He changed His mind.
You see, I am special and I`m needed up above.
I`m the special child you gave Him, the product of your love.
I`ll always be there with you. So watch the sky at night.
Find the brightest star that`s gleaming. That`s my halo`s brilliant light.
So Daddy please don`t look so sad, Mommy please don`t cry.
I am in the arms of Jesus. And He sings me lullabies.
