If you don't want any more, then look at the fine print on the bottom, for a "unsubscribe' link. If they are legit, there will be one. If not, let us know, and we will all harass the heck out of them

"It ain 't over till its over". Letting everyone know I have just been contacted by the anti-incinerator organizers and the petition drive is still on so everyone please sign and send the petition; also, it is important that non-Suwannee Countians include comment letting our County Commissioners know you are eco-tourist/cave divers from ____ and about how many times you visit Suwannee County each year.

I'll try to post the County Commissioners' mailing address for any letter writers tomorrow.

Attended organizational meeting of local qroup opposing the incinerators this afternoon. Several hundred attendees; fairly productive, lots of pep talk, set up various committies and assigned responsibilities. I'm on Petitions committee. One County Commissioner attended; thinks 3 out of 5 Commissioners likely to vote against having incinerators in Suwannee County but cautions against slacking off opposition until final vote taken. Talked with him after meeting; suggest petitions from NFSA members will be most efective if comments include reasons for visiting Suwannee County (cave diving/eco-tourism) since all elected officials tend to disregard petitions from non-voters but this Commission actively promotes eco-tourism.

Have you guys prepared a letter so I can send it to divers and students who visit cave county..?

Do not have a letter so suggest using own words to say something like:

    Dear Commissioner ______________,
My name is __________ and I live in city, state or country. I am an eco tourist/cave diver (using the words "eco tourist" is important) and I travel to Suwannee County ___ times every year to enjoy diving many of the caves in Suwannee County. Please do not allow any medical waste incinerators anywhere in Suwannee County; the caves and springs are way too valuable to risk any possible contamination.

    Thank you,

Was told by Suwannee River Water Management District today that company planning to build and operate medical waste incinerators at a specific site in Suwannee County has withdrawn their request for required permit stating only that they had found a different site. It is not known if that site is in Suwannee County or elsewhere. Stay tuned and please keep on signing petitions, making phone calls and sending mail to our County Commissioners asking them to not permit any medical waste incinerators anywhere in Suwannee County.

Thank you everyone who signed our petition at REACT today, and special thanks to Bill, Linda and Karen for all of their help.
