It may affect water quality (so close to pristine Suwannee River and Suwannee spring!)
Cave divers could sign the petition.

The proposed medical waste incinerator site is less than 3 miles from our home and from "Cave Country Cottage". I and several of our children have already signed the petition and we are asking everyone we know to sign it. We strongly oppose having the incinerators anywhere in the Suwannee River Valley area and ask everyone on this forum to sign the petition too. Suwannee County has committed to expanding eco-tourism and signed petitions from cave divers all over the US and from other countries will really help get the attention of our tone-deaf County leaders. Please sign the petition now; adding your comments will help too.

Thank you John,
I live 20 miles away, but we all are going to see the effect of it. Lake City, Fort White, High Spring...
Cave divers and people who love the environment should sigh the petition if we want to protect the caves.

Anyone care to post real data about these type companies and the specifics of this company?

According to recent articles in The Suwannee Democrat the company seeking to install and operate a medical waste incinerator business in Suwannee County has never owned or operated a medical waste disposal business, or any other business of any kind. It is a brand new start-up and the owner has no medical waste disposal experience. A meeting of concerned residents and others opposed to having any business of this type in Suwannee County is scheduled for Sunday October 13 at 3PM at Millennium Park in Live Oak. (Intersection of U.S. 90 and Pine Ave downtown Live Oak)

I guess there's a reason they don't build this near a major city.
Does anyone know where "all" the medical waste plants are located in the SE and or all
the US?
